What is Trinity Steel Framing System?

Trinity Steel Framing System is a Pre-Engineered and Pre-Fabricated system.  The term “Pre-Engineered” means all the structural and non-structural components are designed by following Trinity Steel Framing System design standards and ready to be fabricated by using cold-formed steel roll-former.  “Pre-Fabricated” means that all basic components of Trinity Steel Framing System are fabricated in the form of truss and framing panel before field construction.  Based on different usages or functions, Trinity Steel Framing System can be classified into Wall System, Floor System, Roof System, and so on.

Trinity Steel Framing System is an innovative metal framing construction technology, which applies advanced technologies in electronics and computer science into the field of civil engineering construction.  Based on the concept of “One Gauge, One Profile”, Trinity Steel Framing System makes the objectives of high quality, high efficiency, low maintenance and cost effectiveness become true.

What does “One Gauge, One Profile” mean?

“One Gauge, One Profile” is the basic concept or foundation of Trinity Steel Framing System.  This implies that all framing components used in the entire building construction are made or fabricated by using only one material (steel coil) and one portable cold-formed steel roll-former.  This concept makes steel framing become very convenient and simple.  The fabrication of framing components can be conducted either on construction site or in workshop.  People just need to prepare a roll-former with coil and all pre-designed building components will be fabricated.  Then they can assemble the components together and that is all.  Since all members are cut into the exact lengths and fastener holes are all pre-punched, they don’t need any manual cut and fit during the whole construction process.

Is it really that easy and simple?

Yes, This is absolutely true.  Three things, cold-Formed Steel Roll-Former, Trinity Steel Framing Design Technology and the related design and fabrication software, make the process of steel framing construction very easy and simple.  Therefore, to make this happen, people only need to do one thing, i.e., purchasing or leasing a Cold-Formed Steel Roll-Former from Trinity Consulting Group, Inc.  This roll-former can roll 3 5/8” x 1 1/2” studs, punch rivet holes at each stud-to-stud connection joint, punch service holes or notches wherever they are required, and cut the studs to the right sizes.  Hi-Tech Engineering & Construction, PLLC. will provide all engineering services based on clients’ requirement.

How does the roll-former know what I am trying to make?

Certainly the roll-former itself doesn’t know what to do.  The data containing design information will be passed to the roll-former through a computer, which is connected to the roll-former.  There is a roll-former control software installed in the computer and this software will communicate with the roll-former.  The design information to be taken by the roll-former control software is called roll-former processing data file.

How to guarantee that all framing components are strong enough and the building is stable?

The safety of the framing components are ensured by the pre-engineered design process described in Trinity’s Steel Framing System Design Manual.  This system design manual meets the current building codes, IBC 2003 and IRC 2003, and other national and local design standards for steel framing systems.  This document is also based on numerous experimental test results made by Trinity’s development team.  On the other hand, since that in Trinity Steel Framing System all components are specially connecting to each other and providing support to each other, it is a high integrity 3-D framing system.  Therefore, the system setup itself is a guarantee to the stability of the building.

Why Trinity Steel Framing System is a cost-effective system?

The reason is simple.  This is because this system is developed to use material efficiently, which allows us to use less material to get the same or higher structural strengths, so that the weight of Trinity Steel Framing System is lighter than other wood or steel framing systems.  The other reason is, since this is a pre-fabricated system, the material waste is significantly reduced.

What are advantages of using Trinity Steel Framing System?

Trinity Steel Framing System has two main advantages. The first one is high quality. The uniform behavior of the steel material makes it possible to keep the members perfectly straight and control the error of the member size within 0.5 mm. Consequently, the reason is simple. This is because this system is developed to use material efficiently, which allows to use less material to get the same or higher structural strengths, so that the weight of Trinity Steel Framing System is lighter than wood or other steel framing systems.  The other reason is, since this is a pre-fabricated system, the material waste is significantly reduced. In addition, Trinity Steel Framing System has some other advantages also listed below:

1)     This system is a higher quality framing system;

2)     This system is stronger and has higher integrity;

3)     This system is lighter and uses less material;

4)     There is less waste and lower cost because of pre-engineering and field fabrication;

5)  This system has a long lifetime;

6)     There is no worry for termite, mold, flood, fire, hurricane, earthquake and other natural disasters.

7)     This system is a “green” system.

8)  This system works for both affordable homes and high-end custom homes.

What are applications of using Trinity Steel Framing System?

Trinity Steel Framing System can be applied to the following building structures:

1)  Residential Buildings, including both affordable houses and customized houses;

2)     Small Commercial Buildings, including small retail centers, motels, mini-storages, mini-warehouses and pole building;

3)     Interior Partitions and Mezzanine Systems in metal buildings and high-rise steel and concrete buildings;

4)     Roof retrofitting projects.
